Once upon a mermaids dream

Time for some alternative christmas! :D
I just got the gorgeous Gardens and Goddesses colouringbook in, and this image just cried out to be a christmascard! (i know, not entirely "by the book"... ;) )
I am honoured to be showcased with this card over at Aurora Wings Showcaseblog
thank you so much!
You should all run over there and get inspiration from all the gorgeous creations on site :)

The image I used can only be found in the booklet, but the image without the cheryblossoms can be found HERE

I coloured her up first, and then decided to go for no DP's. dark blue bazzill and glitter cardstock is enough ^_^
She's coloured with Copic Sketch, and detailed with gelpen. My frame and snow is Aleene's Glittered Snow, with DryStickles Diamond sprinkled on top.
I diecut and punches snowflakes and branches from glittered paper, and added some red bling-berries. My text "God Jul" (merry christmas) is heat-embossed with gold-enamel :)

The swirl of light around the moon is beautifully done Laila, as is the coloring of her hair. This is a really interesting piece with the cherry blossoms and snow, the snowflake embellishments and the red berries, the sea and the moon and finally the mermaid and the celebration of Christmas. Kind of all encompassing - both worldly and beyond. I'm glad you are sharing your project & creativity at our house Laila!

Your coloring is positively breathtaking, Laila. I love the way you added the snow around as a border and the extra snowflakes. The overall card has a fairytale, magical feel to it - which keeps all of the unusual elements connected. I'm so glad I was able to stop by. Thanks for playing along with the BINGO challenge at Crafty Sentiments. Cathy xx
